SAINT-GOBAIN RENEWS NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CANADA

Saint-Gobain North America and its building products subsidiaries CertainTeed Canada Inc. and Kaycan have renewed their National Partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada to continue building affordable housing in communities across the country.

This multi-faced National Partnership comes as Saint-Gobain continues to implement its global Grow and Impact strategy, which includes prioritizing corporate social responsibility and volunteerism in communities where the company does business.  The company has donated more than half a million dollars over the course of its two-year partnership, providing CertainTeed interior and exterior building material solutions, cash, and volunteer hours at Habitat for Humanity projects across Canada.

“At Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Canada, we are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Canada, as we believe all people should have access to housing that is both affordable and built with sustainably-minded materials,” said Julie Bonamy, CEO of Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Canada. “We are committed to the dedication and success of this relationship and are inspired by our colleagues who have helped to build and foster this partnership, which truly meets our purpose of Making the World a Better Home.”

“Habitat for Humanity Canada is thrilled to continue our partnership with Saint Gobain and CertainTeed Canada in helping us build sustainable housing for families in need of a decent and affordable place to call home,” said Julia Deans, President and CEO, Habitat for Humanity Canada. “Collaboration is key to achieving greater impact, and with the support of partners like Saint Gobain, we can do even more.”

As part of this partnership, some of CertainTeed’s donations and activities have included:

  • In 2022, 49 Saint-Gobain employees contributed 343 total volunteer hours in support of Habitat for Humanity projects in Calgary, AB, Burlington, ON, Mississauga, ON, and Toronto, ON.
  • In 2022, Saint-Gobain supported six local Habitats across Canada: Habitats for Humanity Greater Vancouver, Southern Alberta, Manitoba, Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin, Greater Toronto Area, and New Brunswick.
  • Saint-Gobain has donated over $294,000 in CertainTeed solutions to Habitat ReStores.
  • In June 2022, Saint-Gobain colleagues assisted students at M.M. Robinson High School in Burlington, Ontario in constructing a Tiny Home that will be used as transitional and emergency housing for Indigenous communities in the Bruce Peninsula. These students gained unique and invaluable experience in all components of the building process including hands-on experience installing CertainTeed solutions.
