What’s the job?

  • Answer line calls to troubleshoot any mechanical process or extrusion problem
  • Build, repair, or modify all Plant equipment, including extrusion and blending equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance for production, blending, air compression systems, chillers, closed-loop water system, and the plant lift trucks
  • Test water in closed-loop system for Ph factors, environmental concerns, and add chemicals as needed
  • Contact vendors and arrange for outside maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Use BPICS to locate store parts, follow all inventory removal procedures
  • Identify required non store items and obtain information to purchase
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks as required by management
  • Train new mechanical technicians
  • Meet the needs of internal customers by performing quality repairs in a timely fashion, ensuring finished goods continue to reach external customers
  • Identify all potential problems to equipment, building, and grounds
  • Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position
  • The position may be required to travel infrequently to troubleshoot other manufacturing facility issues
  • This position requires that the position be able to move heavy objects safely, not to exceed 100 pounds, without requiring assistance such as a dolly, forklift, or team member assistance
  • There are also frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking and pushing /pulling or moving/lifting supplies
  • This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching
  • This position is located within a vinyl siding manufacturing facility and requires the position can work in an environment that can be noisy and dusty

Requirements

Job Summary

The Role

The Sales Supervisor requires a driven individual with high energy, who is self-motivated with a demonstrated track record of success. This position is responsible for the full range of sales activities related to finding solutions to customer’s Grinding, Cutting, Polishing and Finishing needs. This Business Development territory has a diverse and challenging account base that includes Industrial, Welding/Metal Fab and Construction Markets. The candidate would work closely with traditional industrial, national distribution as well and welding, contractors and construction related distributors. Requirements

This position requires an individual with a proven track record who is a self-starter, highly motivated, creative, personable team player and can succeed with minimal supervision.  The willingness and ability to prospect new customers, opportunities are a must. The incumbent should have experienced sales and marketing skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.  Proven analytical, negotiating problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary.  This means the incumbent must be skilled at working with & cultivating relationships with distribution through the region. The candidate will need to be proficient in Microsoft office, web applications, contact management and other forms of data analysis. Travel requirement for the role is up to 75%. 

Additional Requirements

The territory covers Northern to Central VA and Western MD. A geographic location base would be around the Fredrick MD, Urban Baltimore MD area. There is some flexibility here. It is a great place for seafood connoisseurs and sports fans with the MD Terps, Baltimore Ravens and Orioles professional sports teams. Competencies Required:

A strong technical background in Bonded and SuperAbrasives as well as very good organizational skills is required. The incumbent should have proven sales and marketing skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Proven analytical, negotiating problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary. A bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience is required. Strong competence in professional selling skills as it relates to the Abrasives and Metal Working industry is required. The candidate will create and execute project plans, design, and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings in written and oral formats. The candidate will act as a materials expert internally to support a variety of programs and platforms in different markets.

The main job duties will include:

  • Manages projects from inception through scale-up. Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented, and within budget. Able to balance creativity with process and documentation.
  • Extensively utilizes research and/or project experiences and broad expertise of high temperature/high-performance polymers, materials, processes, techniques, and products to improve on or develop products, increase performance, or reduce costs, to maximize production and/or support fundamental research within high-performance polymers such as polyimides, polyamide-imide and polyaryl ketones as well as engineering polymers.
  • Incumbent defines the associated tasks and milestones for research and proposes the technical approach, cost estimates, and time schedule. Upon approval, the incumbent is responsible for equipment purchases, prototype development, supervision of the project team, and compilation of results and recommendations
  • Stays aware of new technology applications and competitive uses of same in work with materials, products, and processes, and in the development of new knowledge.
  • Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision-making.
  • Keeps project teams on track with project timelines and budgets.
  • Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects

The Role

The Production Associate will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities for the operations in his/her assigned area. The successful candidate will follow plant, departmental, and job safety policies as well as know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements.
