Saint-Gobain is in search of a Sr. Government Contracts Counsel to supports its businesses across the US and Canada. Reporting to the Sr. Associate General Counsel of HPS, the Sr. Government Contracts Counsel will have the responsibility of working with the Saint-Gobain businesses on a multitude of regulatory and Government contract areas and matters. Saint-Gobain businesses, particularly within High Performance Solutions (HPS), engage in robust business with the U.S. Government, often via prime contractors. The role will require the ability to work with multiple teams and individuals across all businesses while advising and providing the necessary leadership for regulatory and government compliance decision making at all levels. The individual will need to be agile and have the ability to influence the businesses through sound decision making skills.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Defining the necessary level of knowledge on existing and emerging regulatory compliance requirements related to government contracting across the organization, including state/local and federal government contract compliance, grants and cooperative agreements, and export controls
  • Developing an annual compliance work plan that reflects the organization's unique characteristics
  • Independently monitoring compliance requirements related to government contracting to ensure compliance with current regulatory regimes
  • Periodically revising the compliance plan in light of regulatory regime changes
  • Leading the Government Contracts Compliance team
  • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the organization’s Government Contracts Compliance program
  • Providing guidance, advice, and training on applicable regulatory compliance matters and ethics and compliance matters, including cybersecurity regulations, export control regulations, and grants/cooperative agreement compliance
  • Working independently on government affairs as needed, while also utilizing outside counsel for subject matter input when needed
  • Identifying risks that an organization faces and advises on how to avoid or address them
  • Interacting with regulators on compliance issues
  • Coordinating efforts related to audits, reviews, and examinations
  • Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of businesses engaged in government contracting
  • Independently investigating and acting on matters related to compliance

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • 4-8+ years of leadership experience in a government contracts compliance function
  • J.D. and admitted to practice in at least one US state or Washington D.C
  • Experience with implementation of compliance programs relating to federal and state/local government contracting and interacting with regulatory authorities, including programs for compliance with cybersecurity regulations, export control regulations, and grants/cooperative agreement regulations
  • Substantial experience with developing and administering government contracts and cybersecurity compliance programs and ethics and compliance programs, and with interpreting, communicating and operationalizing applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability and desire to grow and work independently on government affairs as needed, while also utilizing outside counsel for subject matter input
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to form, mentor, and manage efficient teams across a highly matrixed organization

What’s the job?

The Electrical Maintenance Technician ensures the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment within the plant.  The ideal candidate should have a strong electrical background in troubleshooting electrical equipment including PLC’s, motor controls, temperature controls and other equipment up to 480 volts in a manufacturing environment.

Hours: Work a core schedule of M-F 5:30am – 2:00pm, some OT

Duties:

  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical processes, systems, and controls to improve safety, quality and efficiency
  • Assist in answering line calls from production to troubleshoot electrical and extrusion problems
  • Create electrical schematics and blueprints for new electrical installations and update existing blueprints
  • Participate in project teams for new equipment installations and capital improvement, sourcing vendors, issuing purchase orders, etc.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Hands on experience with industrial controls, engineering practices
  • 5 years of experience – hands on experience with HMIs, PLCs, motion controls, Rockwell (Control Logix, Factory Talk), ethernet/IP and Modbus communication networks

Job Summary

Saint-Gobain Research North America BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) R&D team is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager. The desired candidate must have a proven track record of designing, prototyping and commercializing electrical devices as well as managing R&D projects from concept to commercialization. The candidate will be responsible for managing projects intercompany goals, and technical roadmap. Additionally, they will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and or, troubleshooting electrical devices and systems.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Drive the successful delivery of diverse intercompany projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define clear project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Track team’s progress by holding weekly meetings.
  • Conduct engaging project status meetings and keep stakeholders informed with regular updates. Be the to go person for comprehensive project status and goals.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Responsible for Stage Gate R&D deliverables, leading FMEA meetings, design reviews and other workshops
  • Assist technical team with vendor management, purchasing and external agreements.
  • Create organized space for project related documents. Responsible project’s meeting minutes.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by pinpointing and acting on opportunities for process enhancements.

Electrical Engineering:

      

  • Determine and manage electrical requirements for BIPV from business requirements.
  • Understand electrical characteristics at cell level, module level, string level and system level. Be the internal expert on how a system should be wired.  Perform calculations to understand system design potential and operational limits.
  • Responsible for system and equipment test plans for validation or trouble shooting. Analyze results for product selection.  Recommend 3rd party electronic equipment for installation (batteries, RSD devices, optimizers, etc.)
  • Design and provide electrical specifications to the vendors for components or devices including but not limited to remote diagnostic, electrical safety components and optimizers.
  • Electrical system sizing, layout and installation
  • Responsible for NEC code compliance and UL certification for all electrical components
  • Assist vendors with diagnostic and solutions.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or PhD degree with 7+ years of experience 
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical contributor and project management in R&D environment
  • Proven record of developing products as an electrical engineer
  • Extensive experience managing intercompany relationship with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that drive team success.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with basic project management software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, quality control, engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience in quality control &/or engineering, production management or project management or related environment
  • Prior supervisory experience desired.
  • Member of/Certified in: ASQ disciplines, knowledge in ISO 9001 methodology, familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus
  • Analytical skills – including Excel, Access, Mini-tab and Data Management software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good leader – able to bring out the best in others by utilizing professional interactions with internal groups and customers.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $87,500 to $111,700 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $98,000 to $151,760.

Job Summary & Purpose:

Saint-Gobain Research and Development is looking for a driven, talented, and energetic research engineer to join our growing Life Sciences team. Saint-Gobain is a world leader in developing innovative, high-performance solutions through our expertise in silicone, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), and fluoropolymers. We are searching for an experienced, hands-on material scientist and project leader to investigate, research, and develop new thermoplastic elastomer material technologies and structures (mainly extruded tubing and sealing profiles) that strengthen our product offerings. New material technologies of focus are thermoplastic elastomer formulations and compounds that provide the desired processing and product performance. Projects will be led from the initial stages of conceptualization, prototyping and experimental testing, to implementation in manufacturing using a Stage and Gate methodology.

Key roles and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Development of new TPE formulations and compounds, including thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs).  Candidate to use design of experiments and high throughput screening methodologies to expedite the development process.  This development effort will require close collaboration with the process development team within R&D and other members from across Life Sciences (e.g. R&D, AE, sales, marketing, operations).

 
Leads one or more new product development projects across multiple business units within Life Sciences with minimal managerial supervision.  Such projects require close collaboration with sales, marketing, and operations along with other key stakeholders, including customers.


Manages a  team of one or more research engineers and one or more technicians and grows and mentors this TPE development team.   Manages and documents projects effectively with minimal managerial supervision and enables efficient project management based on stage and gate methodology.  Data and results to be presented in oral and written form; this includes the generation of project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations to internal customers, project teams, and/or management and periodic presentations and close collaboration with sales, marketing and operation functions.  

Customer and factory service support. May include troubleshooting, testing, and analytical support, and travel to manufacturing sites or customers as needed.

Participate in Akron site and various R&D and cross-functional meetings. Includes brainstorming events, site trainings, HSE committee participation, etc.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

REQUIRED:

  • PhD in Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Science, Chemistry, Material Science, or other related technical disciplines (e.g. Chemical Engineering) - REQUIRED
  • 5+ year's experience with formulation DOEs and high throughput screening of polymer formulations and compounds, ideally associated with TPEs - REQUIRED
  • 5+ year's experience in project management including cost management- REQUIRED
  • Management  - People & Projects - REQUIRED
  • The R&D function is looked upon for technical leadership within the organization. This is an important role and such leadership must be approached with proper consideration. Credibility is built upon a history of solid technical leadership.
  • Responsible for People development and holding direct reports and projects teams accountable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Results oriented mindset to meet or beat project deadlines/timelines
