Job Summary

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Scope of the Raw Materials Planner is to manage all incoming raw materials for the facility. They will plan and direct the shipping and receiving of the raw materials required to produce finished goods. This person works closely with corporate planning to manage specified raw materials, using all available scheduling tools and resources to utilize the plant’s resources consistently and most efficiently with forecasts and customer service objectives.

  • Manage & order raw materials as required to maintain the production schedule without disruption
  • Compliance with raw material and Finished Goods inventory audits
  • Manage and perform Cycle Counts of all Raw Material Inventory & communicate as needed
  • Report and perform physical inventories and communicate to necessary departments as required
  • Monitoring the accuracy of materials shipped and received
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement projects and plant improvement programs (5S, TPM, etc.)
  • Organize and report Cost Reductions as they occur
  • Manage annual RM Tagged Inventory
  • End-of-month raw materials inventory
  • Inventory adjustment routing
  • Provide monthly forecasts for glass mat and coating requirements for corporate purchasing
  • Communicate to outside supply chain and purchasing departments as required
  • Monitor & manage the railroad movements of the daily switch process for all raw materials & inbound/outbound
  • Oversee purchasing workflow for the site. Monitor Supplier OTP and manage shortages and inventory levels for critical suppliers.
  • Storage distribution duties as assigned
  • Third-party planning as assigned
  • Tolling duties as assigned

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field is preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in Purchasing and/or Materials Management experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Computer skills necessary to fulfill requirements of the position, including but not limited to MS Office products, etc. is required
  • Mathematical skills necessary to fulfill position requirements
  • Dedicated, self-starter with a high degree of motivation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • SAP experience

Job Summary

WHY DO WE NEED YOU ?

Your mission is to provide engineering expertise and project leadership for the implementation of new composite aircraft structures, including the design, drafting (CAD), analysis, tool build, 1st article production support and testing. Your responsibilities will be to: - Design and develop new composite radomes, ducting, and plastics that meets or exceeds all customer requirements. - Create all required certification reports, plans and documentation that support the certification of that design. - Design and develop the trim, drill and mold tooling required to manufacture the radomes, ducting, and plastics. - Support product testing and certification activities including customer Preliminary Design Review, Customer Design Review visits to the end of establishing a certified radome. - Provide technical support for all internal departments, including support of production implementation, inspection of the new products, and implementing engineering documentation changes for new or existing products, as necessary. - Support the Quality & Hygiene Security Environment (HSE) Systems by performing, as requested to improve compliance to ISO, FAA, and customer requirements.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor Science Degree with a minimum of 1 years' experience OR - Master of Science Degree with aerospace internship experience plus demonstrated technical judgement/accomplishments. - 1+ years' experience in a highly regulated technical industry such as military, aerospace, nuclear or medical. - 1+ years' experience working with detailed specifications and regulations. - 1+ years' experience in designing, creating drawings and performance paperwork to support implementation of a design into practice. - 1+ years' Industry Experience, including interaction and presentation with and to customers. - Possession of a body of technical work commensurate with years of experience using CAD Software such as, but not limited to, CATIA, Siemens NX, Solidworks. - Ability to write complete technical reports and to develop, create, justify, and implement engineering projects. - Demonstration of a strong mechanical aptitude, in addition to excellent organizational and communication skills. - Work collaboratively and solve problems.

The Structural Aerospace Engineer located in Ravenna, Ohio will provide engineering expertise and project leadership for static and/or dynamic structural substantiation of composite aircraft structures, including finite element analysis (FEA), material property development, and failure criteria.

Essential functions include:

  • Perform structural analysis, including FEA of new products to verify the design meets or exceeds all customer requirements and complies with FAA or other agency regulations. This includes communication and coordination of the analysis with the customer. This includes structural analysis to support internal development programs, non-conforming products, and repair of existing product.
  • When required - support the Engineering Manager and Sr. Structural Engineer by coordinating within the department object status (scheduling, procurement, etc.) and status reporting to the business and management.
  • Support customer meetings in PDR and CDR presentations to explain the performance aspects of the structural analysis. - Evaluate and oversee additional analysis topics relevant to structural substantiation such as material and FEA validation, and full-scale testing

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other Engineering field

1 year experience completing all testing and reporting on structural components

3 years' experience working in Engineering in a highly regulated technical industry such as military, aerospace, nuclear or medical

Use of analysis tools and software such as CFD, RF and bird strike analysis

Experience using Finite Element Software and analysis tools such as but not limited to: Hypermesh, Apex, Abaqus, Patrian, Nastran, and SimManager

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $29.45 -$36.25 per hour. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is up to 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.

Work Environment:

Moving equipment such as fork lifts, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility.

We are seeking reliable, hard-working 3rd Shift Production Workers for our Hoosick Falls location.

Impact: In this role you will be a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Pay: $19.20/hr + $1.00/hr shift premium

Available Roles:

  • Coater Operators – Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tapes: Employee is responsible for operating an Adhesive Coating oven to produce a pressure sensitive adhesive tape. Must pass and be certified in Static and Grounding as well as Bonding training. Coaters receive a premium of $1.00/hr after 90 days of training.
  • Rubber Operator: The position is responsible for calendaring batches of material according to process sheet/customer specifications. Operators take milled material and place into calendar to form continuous roll of rubber.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • You will need to be reliable and punctual, able to perform physical tasks that are repetitive, and lift up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math and use basic hand held measuring tools.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • While prior manufacturing experience is preferred, we will provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants.

The Process Engineer will assist with Hot End Process Innovation through close collaboration with CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain support.  Utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles, this position will focus on product formulation, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.

  • Reports directly to the Hot End Manager.
  • Participates in WCM project teams which analyze process variations; develop solutions, and implements corrective actions by using advanced statistical tools in identifying and resolving the root causes of the variations in the process.
  • Responsibilities include developing new process systems, revising existing processes, and developing and coordinating the implementation of projects, which contribute substantially to plant profitability.

Saint-Gobain Research and Development is looking for a driven, talented, and energetic Principal Scientist to join our growing Life Sciences team. Saint-Gobain is a world leader in developing innovative, high-performance solutions through our expertise in silicone, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), and fluoropolymers.

We are searching for an experienced, hands-on material scientist and project leader to investigate, research, and develop new thermoplastic elastomer material technologies and structures (mainly extruded tubing and sealing profiles) that strengthen our product offerings. New material technologies of focus are thermoplastic elastomer formulations and compounds that provide the desired processing and product performance.

Projects will be led from the initial stages of conceptualization, prototyping and experimental testing, to implementation in manufacturing using a Stage and Gate methodology.

Will be supporting three key product lines while also managing and developing a team of two-four employees.  

Key Accountabilities:  

Development of new TPE formulations and compounds, including thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs). Candidate to use design of experiments and high throughput screening methodologies to expedite the development process. This development effort will require close collaboration with the process development team within R&D and other members from across Life Sciences (e.g. R&D, AE, sales, marketing, operations).


Leads one or more new product development projects across multiple business units within Life Sciences with minimal managerial supervision. Such projects require close collaboration with sales, marketing, and operations along with other key stakeholders, including customers.


Manages a team of one or more research engineers and one or more technicians and grows and mentors this TPE development team. Manages and documents projects effectively with minimal managerial supervision and enables efficient project management based on stage and gate methodology. Data and results to be presented in oral and written form; this includes the generation of project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations to internal customers, project teams, and/or management and periodic presentations and close collaboration with sales, marketing and operation functions.

Customer and factory service support. May include troubleshooting, testing, and analytical support, and travel to manufacturing sites or customers as needed.

Participate in Akron site and various R&D and cross-functional meetings. Includes brainstorming events, site trainings, HSE committee participation, etc.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

REQUIRED:

  • PhD in Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Science, Chemistry, Material Science, or other related technical disciplines (e.g. Chemical Engineering) - REQUIRED
  • 6+ year's experience with formulation DOEs and high throughput screening of polymer formulations and compounds, ideally associated with TPEs - REQUIRED
  • 6+ year's experience in project management including cost management- REQUIRED

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Project Management Office, the HR Strategy Optimization intern will help support HR Project Management Office projects and teams.
