Associate Category Manager - Resale

Job Summary

Why do we need you?

The Associate Category Manager – Resale, is responsible for the resale purchasing category for all CertainTeed business units North America.  This role will assist in strategically reviewing supplier spend within all resale category and maximizing cost reduction and process improvement opportunities for the business.   The Associate Category Manager assists in all strategic sourcing activities, which including RFI/RFP, contract and price negotiations, supplier management, reporting (savings, compliance, and other KPIs), and sustainability-related activities, as appropriate and applicable for their assigned projects.  In these processes, the Associate Category Manager will work closely with stakeholder teams from the businesses and/or central services teams.

The Associate Category Manager will also be working in partnership with either the IPO’s (International Purchasing Office) or the Building Distribution activities within Saint-Gobain worldwide for sourcing activities, and will support all activities assigned by the Resale Purchasing Director or Category Manager to professionalize the identification, evaluation, negotiation of suppliers or potential suppliers with the Product or Business Managers. This role will help anticipate and manage the strategic purchasing of resale items in compliance with all corporate policies and controls while being flexible to meet the needs of the internal and external customers in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate closely with and provide timely support for all internal customers which include all CertainTeed business units and their respective product management team, R&D and technical team, supply chain, sales, and general management. Lead or participate in reoccurring internal cross-functional team meetings and provide necessary updates to ensure all involved projects achieve their satisfied end results in a timely fashion.
  • Assist the Resale Purchasing team and help develop, execute and maintain sourcing activities that deliver the category strategy objectives: Identify spend, develop sourcing strategy, and based on assigned projects or businesses, lead sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to optimize the value proposition and drive savings associated with resale spend for CertainTeed. Utilize the digital purchasing e-Tools: Prosource and eAuction for RFP and price negotiations.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive contracting and contract management process to ensure a successful transition from the sourcing process to achieving the required business and functions needs; ensure all project documentation maintained per policies including ProcureNet maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing KPI reports and stakeholder engagement for each assigned category; collect and manage data from external (suppliers) resources as well as other industry benchmarks and internal purchasing resources. Participate in reoccurring supplier meetings to track service levels, compliance, and opportunities for improvements/incremental cost savings. Prepare and publish progress and periodic reports to management.
  • As either project manager or key project contributor, update and maintain detailed notes and action items in regards to involved projects and meetings through various tools and platforms (i.e. Smartsheet).
  • Be the liaison between the Resale purchasing team and our Saint-Gobain worldwide and domestic sustainability initiatives and strategically and proactively ensure that our sustainability goals and tasks are on target.
  • Ensure supplier compliance by managing all Resale supplier charter and EcoVadis and providing timely support on NDA execution,
  • Manage Resale purchasing related activities such as supplier setup process (MDR), certain invoice & rebate tracking and management (IOL), and maintenance of all necessary internal team trackers and files.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry purchasing best practices, sustainability and technology trends and educate team members and business partners.
  • Understand applicable company policy and ensure personal and team compliance including the purchasing policy and procedures.

To make sure nothing is forgotten

  • B.S. in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration or relevant experience in the required field. Master's degree in Business or Finance is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant Purchasing experience in a manufacturing company/environment, with a strong emphasis on strategic source and project management
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Access skills. Strong systems aptitude and analytical skills required
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills, as well as effective presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence all levels of employees and management, both inside the company and externally with suppliers.
  • Curiosity and drive to challenge the status quo, foster innovations, and maintain a strong, collaboration network across the business. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to align leaders from various functions around a common goal/objective. 
  • Business management skills including the ability to clearly and strategically communicate to stakeholders. Ability to use data to make the best decisions for the organization. Solid understanding of business disciplines and financials
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to be able to handle tracking multiple projects to ensure the delivery of positive business results in a timely manner
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions or recommendations and align decisions with strategies. Considers the impacts of decisions on other parts of the organization.
  • Must be able to eliminate challenges and roadblocks to the compliance process for business unit stakeholders and suppliers

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE: This position will also be responsible for moving raw materials to supply all areas of the plant machine operations and return unused materials back into inventory. This position may need to support material handling in any of the following areas; Laid Scrim, Knit/Coat/Glue, Converting and shuttles from/to the offsite warehouse. This position will additionally be responsible for cycle counting assigned as necessary by the Warehouse Supervisor and ensuring inventory integrity is maintained throughout all material movements.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Weigh, wrap, or move finished and semi-finished rolls and supply substrates and rolls as needed for entire plant. • Ensure all material moves are properly and accurately completed. • Responsible for the safe operation of forklift/tow-motor adhering to all safety precautions, company policies and procedures. • Complete daily tow-motor inspection as required. • Must work in a manner that is safe while continuously ensuring quality, production and performance expectations are met. • Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required. • Computer experience with SAP, IMT, Microsoft Office, including experience with the use of computer, keyboard & mouse • Must be detail oriented to accurately record material and inventory related data. • Must have analytical, problem solving skills & troubleshooting skills • Ability to effectively interact with all shift personnel and conduct self in a manner that demonstrates cooperation, leadership and willingness to assist fellow workers and provide instruction as may be necessary from time to time. • Effectively utilize hand tools including, but not limited to: scissors, utility knife, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. • Ability to work unsupervised, efficiently, safely and responsibly.

Job Summary:  The Senior Buyer is responsible for accurately managing the purchasing operations at the Huntsville, AL facility. The scope of job responsibilities includes managing plant materials that impact safety, cost, and production, and supporting quoting CAPEX and contractor services for the site as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the procurement of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and services.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing costs.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Comply with and enforce Saint-Gobain Corporate & Business purchasing policies and internal control requirements (ICRF).
  • Ensure compliance of MRO site purchases with SGC preferred suppliers and drive cost optimization through bidding and negotiations.
  • Improve working capital by enhancing payment terms, maximizing freight densities, and implementing Just-in-Time deliveries and vendor consignment.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all purchasing actions in our ERP software. Train internal resources on QAD and AGORA systems.
  • Convert approved Requisitions to Purchase Orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely material arrival.
  • Monitor and order raw and packaging materials to meet plant needs.
  • Maintain and execute a purchasing strategy for raw materials and semi-finished goods, minimizing freight charges.
  • Monitor Medius for invoice issues and resolve discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Set up and vet new vendors according to Saint-Gobain purchasing protocols.
  • Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks for key materials.
  • Maintain MRP purchasing systems with accurate delivery dates.
  • Complete annual bid processes to minimize costs.
  • Work on cost-saving purchasing projects.
  • Prepare and analyze purchasing data and assist in resolving invoice variances.
  • Manage incoming freight charges to plan PnL impacts.
  • Act as liaison between internal personnel and suppliers on quality or service issues.
  • Facilitate supplier risk mitigation and facilitate bi-annual supplier reviews to develop plans to improve cost positions.
  • Work on projects to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Support Engineering & Maintenance team with bidding and negotiations for contractor services and capital equipment.
  • Participate in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) & World Class Purchasing (WCP) initiatives.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and e-tools, such as QAD, Medius, InTune, AGORA, eQuip+, PPM, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Knowledge of CAPEX and contractor services procurement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Good interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing, enthusiastic, and skilled in negotiation.
  • Ability to work independently and under frequent pressure with time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Effective decision-making skills and ability to solve multifaceted problems
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic purchasing decisions.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $88,000 to $125,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $98,500 to $140,000. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Job Summary

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, directs, and maintains process improvement objectives with the plant management staff to maximize safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Responsibilities include the designing and developing of new process systems, revising/maintaining existing processes; developing and implementing WCM projects, managing and guiding contractors, consultants, and suppliers; identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost/ benefit analysis, and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.
  • Planning and execution of capital projects - preparing capital expenditures.
  • Manages process team’s workflow including planning, evaluation, organizing, and implementing installation, maintenance, and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to ensure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
  • Performs root-cause analysis as well as implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to maintenance.
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and work instructions regarding process improvements.
  • Assists in the development of training requirements for product quality and production reliability.
  • Provides general technical support and leadership to the plant supervisory and hourly employees.
  • Active leader in the investigation of EH&S incidents – Injuries/incidents, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
  • Assures compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations related to product specifications and labeling.
  • Conduct behavior-based audits and 5S audits as well as support plants' EHS goals.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required
  • A minimum of five years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience 
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and Auto-Cad
  • General understanding of World Class Manufacturing Methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Senior Reliability Engineer II - Solar Solutions

We are seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer II for our Solar Solution Development team to help us drive a data-driven decision-making approach for our designs and materials selection; lead testing efforts from component to final system; and lead correction action programs to prevent field failures.

Main Functions & Responsibilities:

Product reliability during development

  • Originates and develops analysis methods to determine the reliability of components, subassembly, and system. Acquires and analyzes data.
  • Works with the R&D team and vendors to define reliability requirements
  • Works with the R&D team to develop test methods to determine product or component reliability
  • Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/products/parts to avoid failures.

Product reliability sustaining and post-commercialization

  • Ownership of potential business interruption corrective actions.
  • Determine Bad Actors and develop action plans to correct them.
  • Improve reliability programs and introduce additional programs and tools
  • Facilitate root cause analysis, using various methods.
  • Perform reviews and approvals for Management of Change (MOC).
  • Use data analysis techniques, including statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction.
  • Conducts analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for a particular situation
  • Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlates the data for analysis using well-defined engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
  • Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • BS Degree with a minimum of 12+ years’ experience, or an MS with 7+ years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 3+ years plus demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments in Engineering/Math/Statistics/Physics or related discipline.
  • Desired 5+ years (Minimum 3+ years)’ experience in reliability testing, test development, NPI, Design and reliability validation, preferred.
