In line with this, our Strongsville Ohio location is currently recruiting a Edgebander Operator. The position is a 2nd shift position, reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for the set-up, operation, shut-down and troubleshooting of the Edgebander Machine in the Strongsville Machining area.

Compensation: $19 - $22/hour 

Hours: 2nd shift, 11:00 am - 7:30pm Monday-Friday, OT as needed

Industrial Maintenance Technician (Nights)
Position Description
Job Summary

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

We depend on your expertise to safely maintain and repair key production equipment, support utilities, and facility infrastructure. Your role involves handling machinery installations and maintaining a variety of systems, including steam, chiller, hydraulic, compressed air, and basic electrical troubleshooting. You’ll also be responsible for pipe installations across systems such as steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production/processing systems.

 

In addition, you’ll take on assignments like dry can changes, general building and machine repairs, and preventative maintenance. You’ll rotate pager coverage for emergency repairs and ensure daily work logs are completed. You'll manage parts procurement through purchase orders and work with outside service contractors as needed. Strong computer skills are required to support these tasks, keeping our operations running smoothly and safely.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

GENERAL

• A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a preference for a Technical Certificate. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of work-related experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing environment or other heavy machinery expertise.

• This role involves working across various areas of our manufacturing facility. The candidate must be able to work independently, efficiently, and safely. A strong ability to learn quickly and perform all required duties is essential.

• The position requires demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and a willingness to assist colleagues in a collaborative work environment.

 

ESSENTIAL

• Responsible for moving, installing, and analyzing mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical malfunctions. Disassembles, adjusts, repairs, and reassembles machine components such as hydraulics, clutches, brakes, turrets, and more. Designs, fabricates, and modifies parts using machine tools, welding, brazing, milling, drilling, and turning.

• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs all equipment. Inspects, replaces, installs, adjusts, and maintains mechanical equipment as required. Works from machine prints, sketches, manuals, and verbal instructions. Collaborates with Engineering to resolve mechanical issues or design new systems as needed. Investigates mechanical breakdown reports, tests machinery, and performs necessary repairs.

• Performs scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all assigned machinery and equipment. Ensures proper maintenance records are maintained and updated.

• Manages spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies, placing reorder requests as needed. Coordinates with vendors and the purchasing department. Schedules and conducts periodic inspections of electrical/mechanical equipment, identifying defects and proactively upgrading equipment.

• Ensures the safety and maintenance of production equipment, support utilities, and facility infrastructure, including installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment, steam, chiller, hydraulic, and compressed air systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, and fabrication.

• Conducts required audits, including cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S or other efficiency management programs. Follows safety protocols at all times and works in a manner that ensures quality, production, and performance expectations are met. Actively participates in SMATs and other facility audit, manufacturing, and efficiency programs.

• Completes general maintenance tasks as assigned.

• Solves problems independently and as part of a team. Rotates pager coverage as needed.

• Capable of operating a forklift and working at various heights using ladders, scissor lifts, or other height-assist tools.

 

PHYSICAL

• Must be physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, and handle or move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

• Visual acuity must be corrected to effectively perform job functions, with the ability to distinguish colors as required for the role.

• Must be able to move freely throughout all areas of the plant floor, receiving areas, and the outside perimeter of the facility.

• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to safely perform job functions.

• Capable of standing and/or sitting continuously for a full shift with a meal break.

• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to a height of approximately 8 feet and perform tasks at that height.

ESSENTIAL

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC programming and programming of AC/DC motor drives. Must be fully capable of wiring, installing conduit, disconnects, and other related electrical components for voltages up to 600 volts. Proficient in operating electrical switch gears and vacuum switches for voltages up to 600 volts.

• Willingness to work overtime and occasionally on short notice.

• Ability to read, interpret, and update blueprints, schematics, machine manuals, and drawings. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Requires troubleshooting expertise, along with mechanical and electrical/electronic aptitude. Knowledge of power transmission, bearings, seals, and electrical components is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and effective communication are also required.

EHS Regional Coordinator, North America

The SGSS EHS Regional Coordinator is responsible for promoting the safety and health of employees and the environment. This role is a key position within the Tapes Solutions and Performance Films Solutions EHS Leadership Teams, supporting business customers. The EHS Regional Coordinator, NA, serves as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries (technical, documents, contact names, etc.) from the Surface Solutions business. This role collaborates closely with the Abrasives Regional Coordinators to align practices where applicable and ensure consistent reporting. The ability to drive transversal programs within assigned businesses is critical to the success of this role.

  • Coordinate TS and PFS locations in NA to ensure EHS program quality meets Business, Surface Solutions, and Compagnie de Saint-Gobain (CSG) expectations. Promote and exchange best practices, and provide support for special needs or requirements (site expansion, site shutdown, newly acquired sites, loss prevention issues, etc.).
  • Create an EHS Network within all TS and PFS NA sites, including regularly scheduled, organized, and structured meetings to discuss a wide range of EHS technical topics. Explore and highlight new strategies for achieving and sustaining world-class EHS performance in TS and PFS.
  • Visit all sites (minimum of twice a year) and integrate a local cross-audit system. Help detect risks and gaps on the shop floor, provide recommendations, and ensure programs are running well and action plans are followed. Work with site leadership and EHS to ensure necessary modifications are made.
  • Drive and coordinate the implementation of site-level behavior-based safety programs to ensure correct behaviors are recognized and reinforced. Track employee completion of required safety training and certifications, ensuring all staff remain compliant with regulatory requirements. Assist with developing competency assessments and ensuring employees have the tools and knowledge to perform tasks safely.
  • Coordinate with TS and PFS Directors of Operations and ABR Regional Coordinators to gather data for SGSS programs (hand safety, workplace vehicles, etc.) for submission to the H&S Quarterly Committee as requested.

As Maintenance Supervisor you will plan, direct, and supervise the Maintenance team, with six direct reports, including custodial services, to support all site activities related to equipment reliability, facility and utility maintenance. This includes managing the reactive and preventative maintenance work orders, distributing the workload to the Maintenance department employees and setting priorities daily. It is also the expectation that the position provides direct support to Engineering and WCM projects and improvement teams. The Maintenance Supervisor must be flexible to the changing needs of the operation which include the ability to temporarily alter their schedule to work 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shift.

The Maintenance Supervisor will also review and establish operating procedures, practices, and priorities that obtain optimum utilization of personnel and/or equipment while maintaining safety standards, budgetary expenditures, and efficiencies. An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the Company’s Policies is required.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline, preferred OR experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree, PREFERRED
  • 5+ Years in maintenance role in manufacturing or facility environment, REQUIRED

Key Accountabilities:

  • Effectively assign maintenance issues on each shift to the right skills in the team, including the involvement of external resources as required
  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements are met
  • Ensure that the equipment and facilities operate in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and ensure their compliance.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts and develop clear accountability for Maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to monitor and manage expenditures.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the development of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules for new and existing equipment and lead the team to ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.
  • Participate in the development, updating and maintaining of the critical spare parts inventory.
  • Adjust staffing plans and levels to support daily production needs, as well as supporting WCM and Engineering related project needs.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve the operational and department performance.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities.
  • Follow through on repairs to assure that the work is completed safely and efficiently according to expectations.
  • Determine solutions to reoccurring problems and identify root cause for equipment delays.
  • Provide support to the plant operating departments on a 24 hour basis
  • Maintains staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities and cross-training.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the Maintenance Technician training program in accordance with the requirements outlined in the CBA.

HR Plant Leadership 

  • Conduct strategic workforce planning, organizational assessments, and succession planning with the leadership team.

  • Actively partner with the Talent Acquisition team on end-to-end recruiting process from, sourcing, staffing, and selection processes. 
  • Develop and implement plans to support employee engagement, culture, and lean and agile workforce for the plant location; collaborate with business unit leadership to facilitate group-wide goals.

What’s the job?

Under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader, the position is accountable for Safety, Quality, Housekeeping and packing finished siding and accessory products at the Jackson Plant.

The Production employee is responsible for producing a quality product for our customers that supports our slogan of quality made “Certain” satisfaction guaran “Teed”. Adherence to all company safety policies and precautions while performing productions tasks and at all times when on the premises.

Day Shift: 6am - 6pm

Night Shift: 6pm - 6am (Hiring only at this time)

Shift Schedule over a 2 week period - 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on. Work 15 days per month, work every other weekend (fri, sat, sun) but have off (fri, sat., sun) the next week

Pay: $17-$18 per hour

Job Functions:

  • Pack vinyl siding panels after cut off from extrusion process, follow nesting pattern and quality requirements.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, housekeeping, for the assigned areas as directed by the Production Shift Leader
  • Assist operator with line set-up, including stringing the line
  • Cut packing straps to length for boxes
  • Assemble and glue boxes
  • Visually inspect each siding panel for color or other visual defects
  • Inform operator or Area Lead of any visual defects or problems before scrapping product
  • Monitor hot glue levels, restock as needed
  • Label and number packing boxes
  • Load siding boxes onto skid
  • Strap skids to prepare for removal to warehouse
  • Perform line housekeeping duties
  • Train other packers as needed
  • Perform other management assigned tasks

Environmental Conditions: The manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms, and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

What do you bring?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must complete associated training programs
  • Interfacing with a computerized process monitoring system requires knowledge and skills in the areas of computer navigation
  • Must have a valid forklift license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of the forklift

  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on days and nights

The Senior Research Engineer I will enable the success of their customer’s product development and qualification. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about creating and applying advanced material characterization tests to support new product development. The focus will be on gaining deep technical expertise in analyzing material structure-property relationships to drive engineering and business decisions for various materials, including thermoplastics, composites, biopolymers and inorganic materials. This position emphasizes technical proficiency and innovation in testing methodologies through active listening skills to identify our customer’s needs, and creative problem-solving skills. We combine literature search, scientific knowledge, and hands-on experiments in support of current and next generation products in the construction industry and high-performance materials sectors.

The new team member will leverage their engineering, material science, polymer science and data analysis expertise to uncover how material structure-property relationships impact performance and durability. They will generate data to drive engineering and business decisions related to formulation, manufacturing processes, compliance, lifetime, and cost. Functions the team member will engage with include R&D colleagues, marketing and commercial project team members, application engineers, external customers, and external suppliers.

They will also be responsible for presenting findings in written and oral formats, generate of IP and technical reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization will be essential for this role to influence others and drive success in projects.

Essential Functions

In this role, the new team member will:

  • Design, supervise and execute fire, durability, and weathering tests to solve problems in different materials and applications.
  • Manage fire and aging testing lab (people, tools, calibration and maintenance schedules, resources, workflow, investments)
  • Collaborate with internal customers to develop and implement testing strategies that meet their specific needs.
  • Analyze test data using advanced tools to identify trends, model product behavior, and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Report and document results of work in manner consistent with company standards
  • Continuously stay up to date on relevant technologies and knowledge in current area of responsibility

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Education:

BS Degree with 7+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years, or entry-level PhD in Engineering (Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering), or related disciplines.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in materials characterization and fire testing
    • General knowledge of polymers, ceramics, abrasives
    • Testing and analyzing results, writing technical reports, and proposing improvements in materials.
    • Developing new test methodologies for analysis of custom products and applications.
    • Experience with accelerated aging and weathering equipment (preferred)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistics, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, Minitab).
  • Ability to code using common programming languages.
  • Familiarity with thermodynamic and fire modeling tools (e.g., Ansys, Comsol, Firefoam, CFAST).

Plant Controller - Woodbridge

This position will include direct communication with both plant management as well as the central CTA finance team and shared services center.

Plant Controller Responsibilities

  • Support the evolution of S/4 HANA ERP
  • Prepare and record all necessary plant (Woodbridge) related journal entries
  • Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close for the plant
  • Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a plant’s financial statements
  • Prepare all post month end close plant financial analysis, performance reports and meaningful commentary
  • Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level
  • Prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs including financial assumptions housed in the Advanced Variant Configurator (dynamic BOM and Routing system)
  • Provide support and profitability analysis for customer-specific projects, including maintenance of the SAP Project Systems structures
  • Support the analytical needs of CTA Finance, the Specialties Controller, as well as plant and line of business management
  • Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability
  • Prepare analyses to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions
  • Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to plant issues • Ensure compliance with SGC, overall CertainTeed, CTA and Interior Products Group (IPG) policies and procedures
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests and facilitate/monitor Capex project completions
  • Track/review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting • Maintain proper spending controls
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Analyze and reconcile plant related balance sheet accounts
  • Support external, internal, and statutory audits
  • Travel and support to other sites or Corporate office may be required occasionally
