Position Summary
The Corporate Engineering Manager is a key member of the corporate technical team and will drive equipment standards and specifications. The individual will work with all divisions in a collaborative manner with the overarching goal of driving world-class manufacturing facilities. The Corporate Engineering Manager will be responsible for our equipment and product drawings, participate in equipment installations, and lead the capital program. The Corporate engineering Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to Mechanical detailers and designers reporting to him.
Along with the entire operations team, the focus will be to develop or improve processes with the objective of improving safety and quality while reducing overall costs, increasing productivity, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Management
- Ensure equipment standards and specifications are developed and available when purchasing or manufacturing equipment.
- Provide leadership and support to detail and design team members.
- Ensure proper mechanical design principles are being adhered to.
- Lead the capital program and participate and or lead equipment installations.
- Develop and maintain product and equipment drawings.
- Provide plant engineering support - i.e., specifications on doors, compressors, HVAC systems.
- Provide reverse engineering support when needed for equipment and products.
- Develop new solutions/processes for our manufacturing equipment.
- Provide leadership and support to Plant Managers for developing and directing plant and process improvement initiatives at all company locations.
- Manage specific long-term strategic plans and tactical implementation of production systems.
- Work with the operations team to select the appropriate capital equipment, support creating the business case, and then oversee purchase, installation, start-up, and training.
- Support new product development and waste reduction programs.
- Support the creation of process documentation.
- Improve production standards through time studies and other standard data development methods.
- Empower staff to adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work.
Finance
- Preparation and adherence to annual and as-required budgets and operating plans in accordance with overall company budgets and operating plan preparation cycles.
- Provide business/cost analysis as required by senior management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience working in a mechanical drafting role.
- Mechanical Technician or Technologist diploma from an accredited college is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with 2D and 3D drafting is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor is required.
- Superior communication skills to develop effective working relationships with peers to maximize results across the organization.
- Possess the ability to handle multiple priorities and a wide variety of tasks to meet deadlines, all with a sense of urgency.
- Sound knowledge of OH&SA regulations.
- Quick learner, organized, and a team player with initiative and capable of meeting deadlines.
