Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining maintenance systems, employees, materials and equipment in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Gypsum Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives (VMVO).

The position manages, oversees, communicates, and controls the planned work process while following administrative procedures to create, review, prepare, prioritize maintenance plans for predictive, preventive, routine, and scheduled activities in order to allow internal customers to prepare for and safely perform maintenance and engineering tasks efficiently and effectively and improving the plant reliability to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) levels.

The position is the leader of Professional Maintenance (PM) oriented improvement projects involving the incorporation of World Class Manufacturing techniques and principles into all maintenance systems.

The national pay range for this position is $79,500.00 to $123,500.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $85,100.00 to $132,100.00

Field Service Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

***While this position is remote, candidates must live in Louisiana***

With safety as the top priority, the Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Performs troubleshooting services to aid customers in resolving issues and help achieve maximum potential from our solutions. Will be the primary representative at the concrete manufacturing plant. Will install and maintain admixture dispensing systems for each Ready-Mix producer.

The FST will be required to interface regularly with plant management, batch plant operator and personnel. Based at home, the candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time as the only GCP/Chryso employee at the customer sites, thereby requiring candidate to work independently. Schedule flexibility is required. Field visits may be scheduled late at night and/or very early in the morning.

Installation, Maintenance and Repair

  • Technical work pertaining to admixture dispensing equipment includes, but is not limited to installation, preventive and scheduled maintenance, calibration, and emergency and service repair
  • Coordinate problem resolution with other employees as needed always serving as the local liaison and first line of contact to the customer.

Customer Relations:

  • Assist Field Sales Representatives in winning and maintenance of customer contracts by building and maintaining professional relationships with customers by performing regular site visits not necessarily relative to equipment needs or outages.
  • Regular site visits to check on admixture levels and customer needs.
  • Must have sound judgment, excellent communication &time management skills, & the ability to represent the company with customers in a professional manner.
  • Understand the impact of customer satisfaction to achieve corporate goals.

Planning & Scheduling of Dispenser Service Work: 

  • An independent self-starter, self-directed person who possesses the ability to diagnose and determine requirements, plan and schedule daily, weekly and monthly events in accordance with the needs of the company and the customer.
  • Interact directly with internal as well as external customers daily and demonstrate organizational skills, planning skills, customer orientation and project management skills.
  • Responsible for managing ‘response time’ consistent with customer expectations or agreement.
  • Must be on continuous call to respond to customer requests for assistance; diagnoses and solves technical problems, providing on-site assistance to customer locations for proper application of our equipment/products.

Equipment Service Administration:

Proficient with computers in order to order equipment, Warehouse part re-stocking, Expense reports, Service Management System compliance, Preventative Maintenance, calibration scheduling and compliance, actively control expenses and demonstrate stewardship of company resources, maintain real time participation CRM reporting systems.

Other Duties:

  • Complete all safety training & Observe all safety procedures, both of Saint-Gobain & those of host companies.
  • Develop a solid understanding of concrete/concrete industry, most importantly the operations of a concrete plant.
  • Recommend modifications and product changes to improve reliability of equipment
  • Work with R&D providing input to new system designs or researching/testing concept of operation of new parts and providing input to improve reliability & performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years' experience in mechanical/engineering work (1 year of education beyond high school counts as 1 year of experience)
  • Experience with computer systems configuration, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24-volt DC electrical systems, and hydraulic system principles
  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented, particularly about maintaining records
  • Hands on Electro-Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree
  • Experience in field service type work/trailer hauling

Sr. Principal Civil Project Engineer

What’s the job?

The incumbent will contribute as part of a team to development and safe implementation of equipment and installation (packages) within capital projects for the CertainTeed Roofing manufacturing plants. They will safely implement capital projects for process plants including civil and structural design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

The Senior Principal Civil Project Engineer reports to the Senior Project Engineering Manager and works with the Project Managers within the PMO on the assigned project, meeting or exceeding their expectations in terms of scope, cost, schedule, and communication.

  • Lead the assigned capital packages related to design, capital requests, procurement (including, scope of works documents, contracts and change orders), budget, schedule, installation and commissioning
  • Develop initial designs, specifications, and budget estimates for capital projects
  • Oversee and direct site feasibility evaluations, assessments, and constructability evaluation
  • Support Project Managers on assigned projects led by Roofing TIP or led by the Roofing plant teams to deliver installations safely, on time and on budget
  • Manage civil engineers, designers, construction management and contractors on site
  • Consults with engineers from other disciplines to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project
  • Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing is conform to functional specifications, recognized codes, standards, and customer requirements
  • In collaboration with the Technical Office, support the development of designs and processes to deliver the best performance and lowest cost giving due regard to safety, operations, maintenance, and legal compliance
  • Provide mentorship and training to Project Engineer’s regarding the design phase of the projects
  • Ensure the efficient transfer of projects to the Operations team, including all documentation, drawings, training support, spare parts packages, etc.
  • Create required schedules while maintaining and communicating project status to meet company goals
  • Follows the Project Execution Manual Check Lists (Stage gate process) applying the standard tools at each step of the project (risk register, change register, etc.)
  • Maintain fluid communication and collaboration with other members of Roofing TIP: Project Management Office PMO, OPEX team, Loss Prevention Team, and other corporate teams such as Operations, Quality, R&D or Safety during project’s life cycle

This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of quality systems and process control strategy related to the vinyl siding production process for the Williamsport, MD plant. The incumbent will control cost of poor quality by leading efforts to analyze and reduce process variation and developing preventive controls. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Central Engineering, Product Management and other critical functional areas to deliver on key organizational objectives with a specific focus on process control and quality systems. 
 
Essential Functions:  
  • Own COPQ metrics and lead root cause analysis and CAPA. 
  • Implement Quality Data Management System in MES and develop continuous monitoring dashboards. 
  • Lead inline and process automation initiatives. 
  • Manage the Process Engineering function and ensure Operational Excellence through effective process controls and design. 
  • Oversee process and product validation to meet requirements. 
  • Design and implement sustained processes and improvements for products, including documentation, visual management, and training. 
  • Stay updated on new developments in materials, process technology, and product applications. 
  • Troubleshoot processing problems and implement control procedures for operators. 
  • Plan and execute experiments to optimize production processes and manage data collection, analysis, and presentation for leadership and R&D. 
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives and ensure Process Standardization to minimize variation. 
  • Manage the Quality Assurance function and staff, including a Quality Control Supervisor, a Quality Technician, and eight Inspectors. 
  • Lead the design and implementation of the quality management system to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. 
  • Proactively plan, control, and assure product and process quality to eliminate potential sources of failure, including planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems. 
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Product Management to integrate quality standards into new products and processes, ensuring production performance and output meet required standards. 
  • Lead the Change Management process to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks related to planned changes. 
  • Define and oversee raw material, product, and process audits to ensure finished goods conform to specified requirements. 
  • Manage the development, maintenance, and adherence to local standard work documentation, such as quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions. 
  • Oversee and initiate the development of measurement tools for product and process evaluation. 
  • Administer the verification and calibration process for all process monitoring and product inspection equipment. 
  • Responsible for leading best practice replication and troubleshooting issues common to vinyl siding production across multiple sites as determined. 
  • Represent SPG Q&PC interests during governance meetings related to new systems, processes and products as assigned.

Siding Products Group (SPG) is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced Extrusion Process Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving process excellence through Industry 4.0 methodologies, employing both tactical and strategic approaches to support our growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Effectively manage and lead cross-functional teams to execute and deliver project objectives
  • Process Improvement: Develop and support process improvement projects in material blending, compound and additive feeding, and extrusion processing. This includes equipment identification and setup, troubleshooting process inefficiencies, and ensuring process control
  • Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality & Process Control, Plant Operations, Project Engineers, and Product Managers to create and execute project plans, design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings
  • Project Proposals: Propose projects and programs essential to the operational direction of the group
  • Process Optimization: Serve as a subject matter expert in extrusion process, driving improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reduce waste using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Equipment Performance: Optimize and troubleshoot extrusion equipment for optimum performance, implement preventive maintenance, and support upgrades for reliability and technology
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead cost reduction initiatives, process automation, and material optimization to enhance production performance
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, troubleshoot defects, and develop process documentation for consistency

  • Oversee multiple process optimization projects, ensuring they are well-defined, properly resourced, and executed within established timelines, while fostering strong collaboration with Production, Engineering, R&D and Quality & Process Control. Facilitate seamless communication to ensure a cohesive approach to Extrusion processing optimization while monitoring the process, allocating resources effectively and adapting strategies as needed. And assuring full ownership in driving and executing these projects to deliver best in class safety, process optimization and product quality resulting in overall operational excellence

The Injection/Rubber Mold Technician sets up all required molds and makes all required adjustments to the LIM machine to conform to drawing speciation and document actual dimensions per quality procedures. Runs production safely and consistently. Deburrs and bags production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation, makes the correspondent labor operations in MRP. Work with manual molds is required when there is no LIM mold, mixes material to work the different processes like bonding, injection, rubber mold.

Maintains 5s workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift.

2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday, 4:30pm - 3:00am)

  • Read blueprint drawings, job orders, tooling instructions or standard charts to determine specification procedures.
  • Set up LIM and Manual molds to produce parts.
  • Select suitable tools and cutters to perform the required operations.
  • Use appropriate measuring equipment (such as micrometers, vernier, height gauges, bore gauges etc.) to ensure that all components produced meet customer specifications.
  • Clean and deburr parts manually and using cryogenic process.
  • Bond parts and mix the necessary bonding materials.
  • Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, without rejection, in a fast paced work environment.
  • Meet ongoing production quotas while working within very close tolerances in a machine-shop production environment.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Lead.
