The position will be involved with maintaining cleanroom environmental control, plant safety and environmental initiatives. Arrive to work at scheduled time and accurately perform and document services to established standards and procedures, including cleanroom gowning and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Ensure the Production facility is maintained at defined standards. Perform and document routine and non-routine inspection and cleaning tasks per standards and procedures and related cleanroom maintenance activities.


Efficiently prepare supplies and cleaning, disinfectant, and rinse solutions daily for production jobs, while effectively communicating with department leads to meet required facility cleaning and disinfection frequencies. Effectively maintain inventory control of required environmental cleaning components and supplies. Promote a safe working environment that complies with proper use of PPE, proper disposal of waste solutions, report incidents and participate in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $100,000 to $155,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $112,000 to $175,000. Position Summary

The Product Development Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing, and coordinating product and process research development activities to identify and procure commercially viable technologies and materials to drive growth. Projects will focus on process, product, and applications development for new and improved products to meet market and customer needs or to develop new processes for more economical or sustainable production of existing products.

The Product Development Manager provides technical expertise and direction to meet Boron Nitride’s strategic goals and manages the global R&D portfolio with activity in the US, Europe, and China. The role also serves as the subject matter expert for customer interactions and co-development with partners. Provides technical services and support to Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality.

The Product Development Manager works independently with some limited direction provided by the R&D Director for our businesses within Specialty Grains & Powders, and the General Manager for Boron Nitride.

This role does not currently have direct reports, but in the future will be responsible for directly managing a Product Development Engineer and/or R&D Technician, including providing direction, support, and development opportunities.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelors Degree in related field required, ideally materials science or ceramics engineering
  • Masters degree preferred
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity within an industrial manfuacturing environment required
  • 2 - 3 years of experience related to technology transfer
  • Experience within ceramic dispersions or Boron Nitride highly preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in market development of industrial products in at least two current market segments (i.e. thermal management, polymer processing technology, semiconductor, etc.)
  • Direct supervision/management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of TQM principles required
  • Must have strong project management skills, including leading and executing both short term and long term projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, as well as be thorough, detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Requires a high level of interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative working relationships
  • Must have demonstrated experience taking ownership, managing cost and results

  • Development of improved manufacturing practices and process capabilities.   • Maintains technical competence and stay informed on new developments in materials, process technology, and product applications to ensure that the most appropriate methods and materials are used in R&D
  • Manage technical aspects of Patent and Licensing activities and benchmarking of competitive products and processes.
  • Documents & analyzes data to make informed decisions for process & product development. Presentation of data in oral and written reports to articulate and convey project developments to all appropriate management levels is required, as well as conducting surveys in relevant patent areas to identify and pursue proprietary opportunities
  • In the future, directly manages the Product Development Engineer and/or Technician, including providing direction, support, and development opportunities. May occasionally assist this direct report with designing or carrying out laboratory and manufacturing experiments.
  • Estimated 20-30% domestic business travel - could include customer site visits, internal site visits, trade shows, etc.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $48,000. We are looking for motivated Plant Operators to join our team in our Amherst, NY location. Operators are responsible for the productive & efficient operations of diversified equipment for the manufacture of product in an assigned department within production. The priority is to ensure the service and quality of products on the production floor, which covers a wide range of activities including manufacturing, inspection, and packaging.

Areas may include (but not limited to): wet mixing area & dryers, acid treat room, jet mill, continuous ball mill, kilns (nitride and stabilizing kilns), vacuum hot press, furnace room, roll crusher, coatings, and powder processing.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including 12-hour rotating shifts. Candidates must be available for both days and nights, as well as weekends. At times, overtime is required.

  • HS Diploma/Equivalent is required
  • Basic computer skills required, such as ERP System (QAD), MS Word and Excel proficiency 
  • Good communication skills exhibiting teamwork & the ability to interact with others

  • Oversees new product development of laid scrim technical fabrics through design phase and machine trials, as well as their transition to routine production.

  • Provides technical guidance to manufacturing to address production problems and to customers, including through direct visits as needed.

Plant Cost Analyst (Essentials of Finance Rotation)
Position Description
Job Summary

What’s the job? 

Saint-Gobain, a leader in global manufacturing, is looking for five (5) Plant Cost Analysts to join the Finance division of their North American business. This position is part of the “Essentials of Finance” rotation program.

As part of the “Essentials of Finance” rotation program, you will spend 18 months assigned to one specific business unit located at one of our manufacturing plants. The manufacturing plant locations vary, but could include Avery, OH; Buchanan, NY; Las Vegas, NV; Kansas City, MO or Faribault, MN. After the first 18 months you will rotate to your second finance position and/or location within the North American Region.

In addition, the candidate will attend monthly training and development courses with their cohort to further improve their corporate and manufacturing financial competency.

These positions will assist in ensuring the integrity of the financial statements and internal controls at the plants. They will also partner with plant management to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions, collaborate with the plants to improve efficiency and profitability, and overall focusing on continuous improvement. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare financial statements for plant cost reporting that will include, but not limited to:
    • analyzing plant performance by providing financial analyses.
    • actual vs. budget and actual vs. prior year variance analyses.
    • balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement data, and other key performance metrics.
    • Reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Process month-end financial close journal entries related to plant manufacturing costs.
  • Partner with Plant Controller on ensuring plant costing is accurate and timely.
  • Partner with the Plant Controller on items such as: Annual Budget, Quarterly reforecasting, production of standard costs, Appropriation requests, Cost Reduction projects.
  • Extract data from multiple systems to update recurring reporting. Including, but not limited to: SAP, Qlikview, SFDC & Magnitude.
  • Support the business unit or finance team in
    • Projects that will improve reporting efficiency.
    • Performing financial analyses and review for key businesses financial data.
  • Attend and participate in all twelve (12) Essentials of Finance development courses and one (1) team cohort project.
  • Collaborate with the Plant via Ad hoc analysis: Increase plant efficiency and profitability, identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions, prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions.

What do you bring? 

  • Graduated from a Business School or Equivalent with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 12 months of related business experience, including internships.
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial statements, ratios, and main concepts of GAAP / IFRS.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Excel (logic formulas, add-ins, macros, etc.).
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Windows software (PowerPoint, Power Apps, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Qlikview, etc.).
  • Preference for experience using corporate ERP system (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.).

In this hands-on Production Operator role, you will operate all production equipment, manage scrap, and maintain high productivity levels at the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant in Bend, Oregon. You will also sustain a positive team environment and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Typical Job Duties

  • Run efficient production lines, problem-solve to ensure products meet quality specifications including checking product and equipment frequently, and make immediate adjustments to lines when needed.
  • Set-up, start, run, shutdown, clean, and troubleshoot extruders and other production equipment.
  • Build boxes, maintain printers, track tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are available.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. all logbooks and line paperwork), read and understand specifications for all products, grade products, and document all changes to the lines as they occur.
  • Keep lines and production floor clean, free of debris, and stocked for the incoming shift.

Work Schedule

Our shift schedules are fixed with current openings on the following shift(s):

  • Night Shift: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4:30 PM to 5:00 AM

Compensation

Starting compensation for Production Operators is $20.00 per hour.

Additionally, all hours worked in excess of 10 hours per day are paid out as overtime. Therefore, in a normal work week, Production Operators work three 12-hours days for a total of 36 hours worked per week. In return, they receive 30 hours of regular earnings and 6 hours of overtime per week.

  • You will build and maintain highly-detailed network documentation including network diagrams and architectural assessments for support, audit, compliance and disaster recovery purposes.
  • Develop capabilities in the factories by providing training of network troubleshooting for existing plant technical resources including automation and controls engineers and maintenance technicians.
  • In this position, you will be responsible for production support and business issue resolution. In order to do this effectively, you will be the first contact for end user technical inquiries and network issues and will work directly with the central IT/OT Team in problem analysis and customer concerns.

  • Flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication.

  • Ability to understand operating principles of Roofing Product Group major process equipment.
  • Experience with Project Management, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting continuous web manufacturing.
  • Experience acting as a change agent across multiple production facilities.
  • Trained and familiar with ISO 9001 / Quality Management System
