Job Summary:  The Senior Buyer is responsible for accurately managing the purchasing operations at the site facility. The scope of job responsibilities includes managing plant materials that impact safety, cost, and production, and supporting quoting CAPEX and contractor services for the site as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the procurement of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and services.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing costs.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Comply with and enforce Saint-Gobain Corporate & Business purchasing policies and internal control requirements (ICRF).
  • Ensure compliance of MRO site purchases with SGC preferred suppliers and drive cost optimization through bidding and negotiations.
  • Improve working capital by enhancing payment terms, maximizing freight densities, and implementing Just-in-Time deliveries and vendor consignment.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all purchasing actions in our ERP software. Train internal resources on QAD and AGORA systems.
  • Convert approved Requisitions to Purchase Orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely material arrival.
  • Monitor and order raw and packaging materials to meet plant needs.
  • Maintain and execute a purchasing strategy for raw materials and semi-finished goods, minimizing freight charges.
  • Monitor Medius for invoice issues and resolve discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Set up and vet new vendors according to Saint-Gobain purchasing protocols.
  • Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks for key materials.
  • Maintain MRP purchasing systems with accurate delivery dates.
  • Complete annual bid processes to minimize costs.
  • Work on cost-saving purchasing projects.
  • Prepare and analyze purchasing data and assist in resolving invoice variances.
  • Manage incoming freight charges to plan PnL impacts.
  • Act as liaison between internal personnel and suppliers on quality or service issues.
  • Facilitate supplier risk mitigation and facilitate bi-annual supplier reviews to develop plans to improve cost positions.
  • Work on projects to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Support Engineering & Maintenance team with bidding and negotiations for contractor services and capital equipment.
  • Participate in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) & World Class Purchasing (WCP) initiatives.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and e-tools, such as QAD,  AGORA, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Knowledge of CAPEX and contractor services procurement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Good interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing, enthusiastic, and skilled in negotiation.
  • Ability to work independently and under frequent pressure with time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Effective decision-making skills and ability to solve multifaceted problems
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic purchasing decisions.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135.850. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for managing technical activities including engineering, product development, Tech Transfer, application engineering, and support to customers and other departments. This role will be highly collaborative and work to support assigned Focus Factories/departments/plants and the Project Management central team. This position is to focus on C-FLEX twin and single screw extrusion, compounding & molding.

Key Accountabilities: 

• Production support

• Troubleshooting production (C-FLEX twin and single screw extrusion, Compounding & molding a PLUS) to alleviate manufacturing process losses

• Outsources the repair and maintenance of tooling, and ensures tools are serviceable at all times

• Control of contractors

• Support projects and change orders being conducted by colleagues

• Conduct Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) to determine root cause and remediation of repetitive defects/issues

• Assess and authorize process deviations

• Advise on root causes of non-conforming materials Project Management

• Initiate and manage change order requests which include but not limited to elements of environment, health and safety, purchasing, quality, and engineering

• Plans, develops, and executes projects to reduce waste through improved manufacturing and process efficiency, using WCM methodologies

Work Environment:

The Manufacturing processes involve granules, silica sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility.

  • Traiter les retenues : recommandations, mouvements, et triage.
