Job Summary

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Supervises the daily activities of skilled maintenance personnel and assists with maintenance project work as assigned. Provides key leadership while promoting positive employee relations within the maintenance team. Supervisor is held accountable to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, compliance with legal and company policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with SGC CertainTeed LLC Principles of Conduct and Action.

  • Directly supervises the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, building maintenance, machinery, utilities etc. Will lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance to all safety, environmental and health policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.
  • Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities of maintenance crews and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
  • Works with Maintenance Superintendent/Manager to develop PM’S that drive improved reliability as well as developing and maintaining standard – will maintain records of all plant and individual equipment performance.
  • Oversees the training of maintenance employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to repairing/working on any of the manufacturing equipment per standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to equipment/machinery failure.
  • Reviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements

  • 4 year engineering degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Technical diploma in the fields of engineering/manufacturing or equivalent experience and a thorough knowledge of skills utilized in maintenance manufacturing improvement.
  • 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • High level of knowledge/understanding of Preventive Maintenance (PM) tracking systems.
  • General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM,  5S & Six Sigma a plus
  • Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with UKG and SAP systems) – high level knowledge of computer systems/programs especially in areas of preventive maintenance solutions/tracking. 
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution –        working knowledge of electrical systems is a plus.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $68,700 to $106,300 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $74,883 to $115,867.

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, where participants will partake in a development program that is designed to increase their manufacturing skills and their exposure to Saint-Gobain. Participants are provided with classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities all designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth. These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December the following year. Upon program completion, EOM Engineers will work with HR to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America. While a final placement role is not guaranteed, the majority of EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers.

Job Summary

The Category Manager, Roofing Sustainability will support and manage the efforts for the Roofing Products Group to meet Saint-Gobain’s 2030 Circular Economy Goals of 80% reduction of non-recovered production waste, aligned with our corporate purpose of Making the World a Better Home. This role entails working with the operations and environmental teams and external partners to develop and implement strategies to stabilize the inter and post-industrial waste recycling at each manufacturing facility. This position requires an innovative mindset to help solve business challenges, a spirit of collaboration due to the breadth of the functions involved, and a commitment to process improvement as these activities will evolve and scale over the coming years

This role serves as an individual contributor on the Procurement team while providing strategic leadership for North American regional collaboration or sustainability topics. Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to support forecasted needs for services/materials using purchasing E-tools to source, bid on and purchase commodities, including regional and local sustainability topics and Roofing related categories (that are ultimately used to manufacture proprietary and highly-engineered residential and commercial roofing products, such as Landmark® (Pro, Premium, Solaris and Climateflex®), Presidential Shake®, Belmont® and Flintlastic®. Responsible for direct ownership for developing/managing partners, technology, contract negotiation and regional/local strategy. Supports, develops and drives sustainable actions linked to the business unit objectives for the Roofing.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Learn existing waste streams, technologies, and strategies used to recycle them within the Roofing network currently.
  • Develop, implement, and manage program strategy to eliminate and stabilize non-recovered waste at all roofing manufacturing facilities; high priority facilities and waste stream will be identified and managed first.
  • Identify market trends, new technologies, existing solutions, and business models that may be regional and could be transferred.
  • In partnership with the operations, lead and manage the non-recovered waste strategy and bridge to 2030.
  • Develop internal best practices, procedures, and guidebook to educate and support operational waste recycling.
  • Provide leadership, influence, and guidance to management team to support plant non-recovered waste strategies and implementations.
  • Travel to operations facilities to develop in-person relationships. Travel to recycling partners as part of audit and relationship building processes. 
  • Partnering with the Roofing Sustainability & Innovation Manager:
    • Support and manage roofing network sustainability supplier engagement
    • Scope 3 supplier meetings, reporting and action plans
    • Support R&D efforts on innovation projects
  • Evaluate ideas and strategies to develop short- and long-term category strategies, translate ideas and strategies into purchasing actions and implement strategies based on understanding of industrial and business strategies
  • Analyze and improve process and supply chain procedures to increase operational efficiency and drive cost saving initiatives across our supply and production chains.
  • Analyze data points (such as supplier scorecards, history, market trends, inventory requirements, etc.) to implement purchasing strategies and mitigate supply chain related risks to businesses.
  • Implement strategies for negotiating commodity purchasing agreements based on in-depth knowledge and understanding of business requirements and knowledge of domestic and international commodities market to secure optimum pricing and terms.
  • Analyze demand, supply and forecast for assigned raw materials and monitor on-going trends and their impact on availability of assigned commodities.
  • Perform category market analysis for origination, application and cost structure and purchase commodities in accordance with approved buying programs and procurement policies in place and using technical judgment.
  • Prepare technical reports on strategies based on in-depth understanding of industry best practices and technologies.
  • Perform market analysis of historical and potential future raw material purchases.

  • After 1 year : $26.76/hr.

Schedule:

Rotating 8 Week Schedule – 6am to 6pm for two shifts followed by 6pm to 6am for two shifts and then four days off;

 

Working in a manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for the production and quality of our paper products. You will be trained to work on various machinery and to follow various production protocols.

Program Summary:

They will gain a knowledge base of all CertainTeed products, systems, programs, and promotions used to sell and promote the brand to potential customers throughout the U.S. Representatives will also be expected to collaborate with the managers and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are constantly being met.

Development Program Completion

Upon the successful completion of the program, the EOS Associate Territory Manager will work with HR, the Sales Training Manager, and Sales Leadership to explore available opportunities within one of our 12 sales regions in the U.S. for a Territory Manager role, or other roles within Saint-Gobain. Those not able to find another role at the end of a successful completion of the program may qualify for a completion bonus if eligibility requirements are met.

Job Summary

The primary function of the Maintenance Electronic Technician is to trouble shoot pneumatics, electronics to the component level, as well as work on PLC ladder logic. The incumbent must work with thermocouples, RTD’s, various level sensing devices, thickness detectors, consistency transmitters, load cells, and other high-tech devices.

Essential Duties:

  • Diagnose and trouble shoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

The Role

High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 10 (10) years’ electrical experience and successfully pass a skills test, that is intended to determine mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge, A/C and 3 phase circuits, instrumentation knowledge and skills. Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Maintenance Electricians. Communication skills must be at a high level in order to clearly communicate issues/problems of the process. Interfacing with computerized process monitoring systems and other computer software and systems requires knowledge and skills in areas of computer operations. Must have a valid forklift and buggy license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forklift.

Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

The Multi-Site Quality & Process Automation Engineer is a direct report of the Siding Products Group Quality & Process Control Director and is a member of Staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems in vinyl siding manufacturing. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, ensure safety, improve quality, and reduce downtime by automating key processes and improving data collection and analysis. The role involves evaluating, troubleshooting, installing, testing and maintaining automation systems, as well as training on new equipment and systems.

Essential Functions:

Automate Inspections:

  • Create and set up automated systems using vision systems and robotics for inspecting vinyl siding production.
  • Develop software to spot defects like color issues, surface defects, and dimensional inconsistencies.
  • Integrate these systems with current production equipment and ensure they provide instant feedback to reduce defects.

Optimize Processes & Ensure Quality:

  • Collaborate with the Quality & Process Control team to define critical quality metrics and choose systems to measure them.
  • Analyze inspection data to find trends, reduce defects, and make improvements.
  • Enhance the accuracy and efficiency of inspection systems to reduce errors and increase productivity.
  • Create and apply procedures for inline quality inspection.

Monitor & Analyze Processes:

  • Implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
  • Examine process data to spot trends and quality issues.
  • Monitor key process parameters and ensure they stay within set limits.
  • Use SPC tools to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.

System Integration & Maintenance:

  • Connect inspection systems with plant control systems like PLCs and SCADA & Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Troubleshoot and maintain inspection equipment, including vision systems and sensors, to keep them working reliably.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to enhance processes based on inspection data.
  • Train staff on using inspection equipment and interpreting data.
  • Lead efforts to improve inspection speed and accuracy while reducing the need for manual checks.
